Meet Our Investment Team!

Kirk L. Johnson, Senior Vice President and Manager of the Investment Management Group, is a graduate of Kansas State University, holding a Master's Degree in Business Administration, and a Bachelor's Degree in Finance. He also earned his Certified Financial Planning designation from the College of Financial Planning in Denver, and has more than 20 years experience in the Trust field, joining CoreFirst Bank in 1993. Currently, he serves as a board member of the Capital Area Chapter-American Red Cross, Board of Directors of Downtown Topeka Rotary and is also involved in his church and several community organizations.

Robert L. Derstein, Senior Vice President and Trust Marketing Officer received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Kansas State University and a Juris Doctor's Degree from Washburn University School of Law. He has over thirty years of trust and estate experience. His professional memberships include the Topeka and Kansas Bar Associations and the American Institute of Banking. He is active in many community and state charitable organizations and has also taught various Trust and Estate courses.

Jody R. Olberding, Senior Vice President & Trust Officer, joined the Investment Management Group in July of 1991. Prior to that time, he was engaged in the practice of law. He has served on various committees of the local and state Bar Associations. He has served as Chairman of his church's Finance Committee for a number of years as well as a member of the Hayden High School Finance Committee. He received a Bachelor's Degree from Washburn University, and a Juris Doctor's Degree from Washburn University School of Law, with an emphasis on Tax and Estate Planning. He also holds a L.L.M. Degree (tax) from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, Missouri.

Laura K. Bond, Senior Vice President and Trust Investment Manager, has a Bachelor's degree from Washburn University and graduate hours from Kansas State University. She has been a licensed securities broker since 1982 and worked for two local securities firms before joining CoreFirst in 1993. She is responsible for the departmental policies and procedures and the administration of institutional Trust accounts. She is a member of Washburn University Alumni Association.

Lindy L. Ericson, Vice President and Trust Officer. She has over 29 years of experience in banking. She is currently in charge of assisting Trust Customers with their accounts, asset management, estate planning, wealth enhancement, bill payment and other daily financial issues. She has attended Emporia State University and Washburn University in Topeka.

Timothy A. Dreiling, CFA Vice President, joined the Investment Management Group in June of 1995. He graduated from Kansas State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance. Tim was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation in 2003. He holds both Series 7 and Series 63 securities licenses.

Adina R. Eaton, Vice President & Trust Officer, has been with CoreFirst Bank & Trust since 1988 and joined the Investment Management Group in June 1994. She attended Kansas University and Washburn University. She is the Operations Supervisor and is the coordinating link between Operations and Administration.

Roger T. Aeschliman, Trust Officer, joined the Investment Management Group in 2003. Prior to that he was Chief Operating Officer of the Kansas Department of Human Resources. He received a Bachelors degree in Journalism and Political Science from Kansas State University and Masters of Public Administration from the University of Kansas. He is an officer in the Kansas Army National Guard and is active in many community organizations.

Alicia Rothe, Trust Officer, has been at CoreFirst Bank & Trust since 1999. She attended Topeka area schools and holds a Bachelor's degree from Kansas State University. A life-long Topekan, Alicia has 10 years of volunteer experience in various capacities in the field of psychology.

Dennis Hitt, Financial Advisor, has a master's degree from the University of Kansas. He joined the CoreFirst Bank & Trust Investment Management Group in 1995, after working for three years for a local Financial Planning firm. He holds both Series 7 and Series 63 securities licenses.

Carol Jacobs, is a Financial Advisor with CoreFirst Investment Services. She has a BBA from Baker University, a Series 7 Securities License, and has completed coursework at the Kaplan College of Financial Planning. She is a contributing writer to Hers Kansas magazine, with a monthly column entitled "Money For Life".

Michael Lott, Financial Advisor, has financial management experience dating to 1980. He holds Series 6, 63 and 7 licenses and has experience in insurance, mutual funds, annuities and other investment products and services. He attended Bethel University on football and track scholarships and earned his Bachelor's degree from Kansas State University.
