What's Your Price?

Set your maximize price for your new car and never let your salesperson know what that price is. Make sure to research pricing for your desired model by looking at the classifieds section in the local newspaper or utilizing a tool like Kelley Blue Book online. When setting your budget don't forget about sales tax.

You might also want to start thinking about the financing you will need. Ask yourself questions like how much can you afford a month and how long do you want to take to pay it off. Use the CoreFirst payment calculator for a rough estimate on a monthly payment.

Take It For a Spin!

Test driving the car is the best part and probably the most important. Make sure the car handles and brakes well. Take it for a ride in the city and on the highway. If you are looking at a used car and are seriously considering buying it, spend a little extra money and have it checked out by a reputable mechanic before you make an offer.

Stand Your Ground

If the dealership isn't willing to meet your price or something doesn't feel right about the transaction or the car's performance, trust you instinct and don't buy. There are plenty of cars in the sea! With patience and research you'll find the car that is right for you.
